After feeling the effects of lockdown and isolation, not only physically but mentally, I managed to take advantage of an outdoor gym session with Gary. I've worked with Gary for a number of years but recently slipped a disc whilst renovating my house so have missed much more than just the time caused through lockdown.


Today was the first session back and the feeling of relief is unbelievable. Gary knows the history of my back and knows how to push me correctly. Physically, I feel out of tune but know it won't be long before Gary gets me there, cautiously with care and attention to my back. The biggest thing though - mentally I feel great. One session, but I feel great.


Gary, thank you! On to the next one... Let's get this train rolling once more!

It’s the first time I’ve used a PT instructor and I met with a number of instructors before choosing Gary, and this has proven to be the right choice. He takes time to understand you as a person and what you are looking to achieve and over what period. The sessions are structured and tough but he doesn’t try and push you too far. The sessions vary each week, which makes a real difference as you never know what you are going to do week to week, but you also don’t get bored of the same routine. As I’ve continued to train outside of my weekly PT sessions, Gary has adapted my weekly sessions to accommodate the additional work I’ve done. He’s good at explaining each routine and showing me what I need to do. He motivates you well, but without being too overbearing in his approach. I’ve also had a couple of minor strains and has adapted the sessions accordingly, but is also extremely knowledgeable about the body and the impact the training is having. I trained with Gary for a period of 6 months whilst I was training for a long distance run but at the same time wanted to lose weight and look more athletically toned. Gary took the time to go into great detail in regards to the physical and nutrition side of the program and explain the ins and outs which put me at ease straight away. One of the positives about the program was the diversity of the training, Gary often changed the exercises and type of training we where undertaking which always made it interesting and enjoyable. After the 6 months I was able to complete the run quicker than I had planned to and was really happy with my end results."
